If you're a scalp trader, prepare to have a negative profit loss ratio if you don't cut your losses quickly! This is a strategy where you have to be ruthless about cutting losses, otherwise it will ruin your profit loss ratio and make it so you need to be right 90% of the time just to breakeven.

💰Remember, day trading is risky and most traders lose money. You should never trade with money you can’t afford to lose. Prove profitability in a simulator before trading with real money.

The Achilles heel of a scalping strategy is that the average winners are really small. Now, a lot of beginner Traders are drawn to scalping strategies because of the instant resolution. You don't have to deal with the exposure risk of holding a position waiting to see whether or not it'll resolve in your favor. But the problem is a lot of beginner.

Traders They don't have the experience that gives them the educated intuition, which results in having 65 70 accuracy. So with lower accuracy, they're incurring more losses. And if they're not good at cutting their losses, they're going to have a negative profit loss ratio, which means they're basically destined to lose money. So the real conversation here is, how do we increase that educated intuition? So beginner Traders can trade with higher degrees of accuracy.

And I'm telling you, it comes down to stock selection trading the strongest stocks each day.

May I ask if your strategy is scalping the strongest stocks, please?

Good point to ensure all noobs know, albeit, to be honest, I would caution beginners to stay away from stocks in general and to instead go for index futures like ES, MES, NQ, and MNQ with tight risk management and a scalping or other strategy they can practice in simulation.

The world of stocks, especially penny stocks, is absolutely wild and extremely challenging for a beginner to navigate… it’s very fast pace and fraught with potholes a beginner can find himself caught in, especially if trading on margin.

Edit; IN MY PERSONAL EXPERIENCE –
I started my trading career about 10 years ago with Ross as my teacher, I tried really hard, did everything, spent the time and money on education and practicing, and was unable to get even remotely close to profitability due to the challenges of stocks I was simply unprepared to face. When I switched to futures after the rigors of fast moving stocks, I suddenly found myself profitable without even managing my risk properly, then very profitable and consistent with proper risk management… so… idk… trading the hottest stocks works but I advise beginners to test the waters with various instruments to see what works best for them… you can make great money on practically anything so long as it works for you…

If you enjoy scanning for stocks and enjoy trading super volatile and fast moving stocks with relatively large PnL swings, then this is definitely a good instrument for you, but for someone like me, I was just absolutely trash at it so my advice would be to test various instruments before committing to the one that works best.

Also, Ross is a great teacher for beginners regardless of instrument… his strategies work practically for everything… it’s just some things move a bit calmer, are more or less liquid, and have some specific risk management quirks. I’d still recommend Ross to anyone who is a beginner, just not 100% on the stocks ordeal from personal experience.

Will forever be thankful to old man Ross for getting me sucked into trading all these years ago haha

Started with a $500 paper trading balance on Monday. I’m currently at $1619.50, I’ve learned a lot I. 4 days. A huge one was stuck to your plan… when I didn’t I saw it.

The strongest stock each day seems to be strong for 1 -2 hour, then fade all day. Only opening hours when all traders are pushing up the stock, then shorting it down. Smallcap are the worst.

Why don't you talk about dilution, like NEPT yesterday had all the variables to be the strongest of the day but dilution killed it, no one ever talk about dilution

  6. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars @jiggleweed1286 says:

Hey Ross do you go for long term positions?

  7. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars @gerbacka says:

Great points- set and keep to limits and tighter stop-loss orders. If not confident or willing to take a loss, simulate the trade and back test your approach and strategy before going live and entering a trade. Thanks Ross!

I agree 100%! Also, will we get podcast videos back? I enjoyed listening to them throughout the day 👍

  10. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars @pushgameon says:

True! Don't be greedy also, and be patient in stock selection which sometimes means waiting longer for an entry🐏

Choose strong stocks, THEN scalp them.
