Take it from me, a habitual rule breaker will save you thousands of dollars if you can learn this early on. The next piece of advice that I wish I knew when I was getting started: I call your broker a Max loss on your account. So if you're down more than a certain amount on any given day, you're done and you can't keep trading. and also to set a Max share size on your account so you predetermine what that is and you can't take more than that number of shares.
That just helps prevent a day where emotions may get the better of you.
