it's all cofusing
I've had the same issue with TD. all they did was give me 20 free trades.
I appreciate your commitment to teaching and putting yourself out there – big step!! And a huge change…
watching these videos of delayed filling and issues with brokers like TD and IB are frustrating me and I'm not even in the trade…
Ross Just Stick with LightSpeed. You get what you pay for…..
Love your honesty.. this IS a tough game!! I trade RTY [Russell 2000] micro futures contracts.. but there are many parallels to all trading..
Hi Ross, big fan here. I’ve been following the channel for about 2 years now. I want to start my own account and I was wondering if you happen to know someone who does it from Australia and have some tips like what broker to use with a small $1000 account and how to deposit/withdraw and also if it is legal to do it from here. Thanks so much, love the channel.
Hi, My only brooker I ever used is TOS on TD Ameritrade. I never had the situation that you had yesterday. I wonder if you have different settings than I do. On the flip side, there was some sort of system crash on, I think, Thursday 10/31. All users in chatrooms talked about how the platform was behaving radically. I never experienced that with TOS before either. Now, it seems a bit buggy. I wondered if they were hacked into and got a virus or something on HAlloween. I'm pretty sure my statement from trading yesterday says that my orders were filled 7 secs before my order was placed. THis is definitely unusual TOS behavior. The question is: How long before they clean this up. I'll call them this morning.
You can use an offset if you send your order using the ladder (hold control for limit instead of stop). I have also experimented with having a custom STP-LMT order for my entries, but I think that's not exactly your style
About autosend – I've just started using the platform so maybe there's a better solution, but what I found is that if you uncheck and recheck the auto send box, the next order is garuanteed to auto send. If you just leave it on for a while it can stop working for some reason
Is there any platform for us citzens around the pdt rule ?
Even when you're paper trading on TD it glitches. Sometimes it takes like 20 seconds after you cancel a trade and it will get filled.
My charts were slow at loading a few times. I wasnt in any trades but i had to close it and log back in. I thought it was my computer cus it's old but now im thinking it was the platform.
Hey Ross, question. did you selling at Market in this video? If so, how do you determine whether you sell at ask, ask with an offset, and at Market?
Hi Ross,
Would you consider reviewing Charles Schwab's free trading performance, please?
Ross . You are the best! Im rooting for you
Weird glitch with TOS. Traders in my room had TOS issues the day before, so not sure whats going on there, but not acceptable.
In the active trader window.. Go to the highest price you want to pay, hold down SHIFT and click the mouse. You will then have a limit order.
Happened to me trading the exact same stock at the exact same time of day! Weird….
My advice, Just try to be green entire week even if you are making 50 $ a day. a 5 day green of 50$ Each is better than 100$ red in one day. You will start getting ur confidence. Don't just jump emotionally into trades.
Hi Ross: I’m a WT Pro student. I’m impressed with how diligent you are at commenting or answering the questions in the comment section of you videos. That seems daunting so it’s much appreciated.
I have been carrying two burning questions for which I’ve been unable to find clarity.
1) I thought that I saw somewhere that you recommended selecting an exchange and not using “smart routing”. However, when doing so my selected exchange is often not the best offer, so I lose points at entry when hot key buying on the ask. Is designating an exchange the best method or is there a means of buying at the best offer when using hot keys? Also, my CMEG platform lists NASD and NSDQ separately so I’m unsure of the difference (but that’s a subset question, not the second Q).
2) When you exit a trade, you’ll often say like today that you “got out at 4.24.” Are you selling on the ask by hot key which gets you out under the current ask (at your exchange) minus one or two cents, or are you tying in the exit price that you want to sell and sending it? I know that you do all three: type sell order, hot key sell on ask, hot key bail at bid, but is your first move mostly typing in your sell order at a specific price to exit a trade?
Ross, did you trade APRN today?
Thanks for the videos I’m currently looking for a platform and I’m not feeling TOS or power E*trade
what happened to all of future warrior Steve videos?
The template selector can mess things up sometimes and you just reselect single from the drop down to fix it. I've never had an order act like that on the live platform but I have seen it on the paper trading platform. Sure hope it's a one time glitch. Good luck.
Sometimes TD Ameritrade glitches like hell. Have to log out and then log in again.
Try increasing your RAM allocation for TOS. Settings button on the login page. Dont know if it'll help but worth a try, i have mine set so it has 16GB available.
if you hold control and click on in the active trader window on the max price you wanna spend it will send a limit order to fill you that will buy as low as it can them move up to your limit price. So hold control and click in the "Buy Order" column if you want a spread. I think that is what you are looking for.:) also think or swim is a bit of a resource hog. with you streaming that could have been your pc. which would matter to you for sure but not to most. I have never see that happen even on paper trading.
