I started with $250 in TDA and grew to $1400 in 3 months. But then I lost $400 and now up another $200. So $1200 trying to grow to $2000 for cash acct. Then trying for $25k. Hopefully possible from $250 .. just don't know how long it will take..
I use TDA since March and never had any execution issues. I have been through a few outages though..

It seems there is an overwhelming consensus regarding the TD Ameritrade cash account lag. So what is the next best alternative? Even if that means having to pay reasonable fees/commissions. I'd really like to get started with $5K and avoiding an unreliable trading platform definitely makes sense
When starting off with around $2k, would you recommend a cash account and just divide up your funds you plan to trade with per day or do the 3 day trades a week with a margin account.

I took that exact trade, I thought It was a winner, I then discovered TD had rejected it, but they finally filled me on my other trade that was halted going down!

Hey Ross, is the first pull back play a higher probability set up than the original break out above the pre market highs? Or are you taking it because you're risking off the low of the pull back, which minimizes your potential loss relative to the volatility at the open?

How I get around TD lags and freezes. I will look at how TOS is acting premarket. At the open before trading I will have an alert ready to place, if it places right away, usually TOS will let me trade without lag, slow orders, rejections or losses. For some reason, placing price alerts are as important as actual orders to the platform. Another way I tried and it works for me, is placing OCO orders at the open. Even when things are lagging and even frozen, when all is said and done, TOS will do the trade. My OCO orders are for about 10 to 20 cents risk reward. Hope this helps.

Hey Ross, You might want to change your Flatten button to Flatten Now or you will get a confirm popup before it executes. It may save you when you end up with odd share size and need to bail out quick!
